SMARTER SOLUTIONS FOR A CLEAN ENERGY FUTURE FCgen® – 1300 Series Ballard's FCgen®-1300 fuel cell is a low-cost, liquid-cooled proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell product line specifically designed for stationary applications. Available now to customers with fuel cell stack integration capabilities, the product is especially suited for incorporation into systems developed for the backup power and distributed generation markets. Cell Count Mass (with no coolant) [kg] Stack core Dimensions Length [mm] PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cell stack Maximum current Fuel composition Hydrogen, nitrogen blend ≥ 80% H2 Oxidant composition (pre-humidification) Compressed ambient De-ionized water, water ethylene glycol, water propylene glycol Stack Temperatures: Ambient operating temperature Shipping & storage temperature The fuel cell stack offers long life, whether operated continuously for baseload power generation, or intermittently, providing peak power during times of high demand. This reduces overall system maintenance, delivering a strong economic return over the life of the product. Start-up temperature Capitalizing on its leadership position in PEM fuel cell research and development, Ballard has developed a fuel cell product suitable for applications where load-following capability, reliability and cost optimization are key requirements. Additional information available upon request. 1. Values achieved at Ballard-specified conditions at the beginning of operational life. The hydrogen fuelled FCgen®–1310 product is available now in production quantities in a number of cell configuration options. This fuel cell stack powers Ballard's CLEARgen™ distributed generation system. The next generation of this product, capable of operating on reformed natural gas, is currently under development. Ballard Power Systems also offers application engineering support to ensure lifetime and performance is maximized through the system development process. Please contact us at [email protected] for more information on product availability, engineering support services and pricing. 2. This reflects nominal fuel consumed at rated power and not actual flow rate. This is consistent with a pure hydrogen system using recirculation. 3. Stack core width [490mm] & height [180mm] are constant for all configurations. Specifications and descriptions in this document were in effect at the time of publication.
