The RGX-840 embedded computer features a variety of industry standard interfaces, as well as an powerful and fast integrated LTE/4G module that provides fast wireless access to the Internet. The current position data is supplied by the integrated GNSS/GPS/GLONASS system. Wireless Network Interfaces The connection to the cloud can be made wirelessly via the integrated LTE/4G interface, via an integrated WiFi module as well as via the standard LAN port. The integrated WiFi as well as the integrated Bluetooth Low Energy interface are supported by a single combined external antenna connector. A ready-to-use pppd system provides a fast and easy wireless connection to the Internet. The robust SIM card holder is externally accessible. The LTE/4G module has an automatic fallback feature to 3G/2G in case of unavailability of a 4G net. The module can be completely reset using a software interface. This ensures reliable 24/7 operation. Rich Set of On-site Interfaces The RGX-840 computer is available in several product variants and enables seamless coupling to machines, equipment or vehicles on-site. Up to 2 CAN ports support CAN standards 2.0A and 2.0B. Easy access to the CAN ports is provided by standardized software interfaces such as SocketCAN, J1939 and CANopen. In addition, RS485, RS232, One-Wire, I2C, USB as well as digital inputs and outputs are available for flexible on-site connection. Flexible Debian 9 - Stretch Linux operating system The RGX-840 embedded computer supports the Debian 9 / Stretch based Raspbian headless Linux system. All interfaces, such as the CAN bus and the serial interfaces as well as the digital inputs and outputs are controlled via standard APIs or standard Linux device interfaces. RGX-840 has a 4GB onboard eMMC memory. Instead of the eMMC memory, a version with integrated microSD card with capacities of up to 128 GB is also available. The internal eMMC or microSD card memory can be easily and conveniently programmed with a setup USB stick. For comfortable software development all software and tools of the RPi world are available.
