CBR Continuous Fill Batch Reactor Packaged wastewater treatment process for small communities. CBR uses sequential batch reactor activated sludge technology in a single modular process unit designed specifically for small facilities, to produce high quality effluent without the need for any complex controls or sophisticated moving equipment such as clarifiers, sludge scrapers and RAS pumps. Process Design Features: • Small footprint & low profile • Decanting of clear treated effluent • Simple design for maximum reliability • Filamentous bulking sludge control • Simple control philosophy • Integral waste sludge digestion • Minimal operator input required • Modular design - easily expandable • No scrapers, clarifier or moving decanter mechanisms • Continuous filling - no influent equalization required • Pre-fabricated, “plug & play” systems • Integral batch settlement under quiescent conditions Stage 2 Stage 1 CBR stages of process cycle operation Stage 1 - Settlement Outer tank fills continuously with wastewater, rising from Bottom Water Level (BWL) to Top Water Level (TWL) in 60 minutes at maximum design flow. Inner tank undergoes settlement for 45 minutes. Stage 2 - Effluent discharge Decant valve opens after settlement, discharging treated effluent from the system. Stage 4 Stage 3 - End effluent discharge Inner tank liquid level drops to BWL. Decant valve closes at end of decanting effluent. Stage 3 Stage 4 - Transfer Transfer valve opens, all tank levels rapidly equalize. Transfer valve closes and process cycle re-starts.
