It can be used in shaft or rod services to speeds of 3,000 fpm (15 m/sec ). CHESTERTON 477-1 has the highest percentage of carbon of all major competitors for less consolidation and more reliable service up to pressure and temperature limits. Higher quality carbon precursors make 477-1 easier to braid without fraying or fiber damages. New low modulus yarn provides the strength associated with continuous filament carbon fibers plus greater flexibility.
