AVL Digital Battery Passport Enabling a Sustainable and Circular Battery Lifecycle The AVL Digital Battery Passport enables the traceability and transparency of the battery value chain, from raw materials to end-of-life recycling. It supports distributing companies to comply with the requirements of the new EU Battery Regulation. A PLATFORM FOR THE DIGITAL BATTERY VALUE CHAIN The AVL Digital Battery Passport creates a digital representation of the physical battery, storing relevant data throughout the entire battery lifecycle. It provides information on the battery’s identification, characteristics, performance, durability, carbon footprint, recycled material, supply chain due diligence and end-of-life management. The data is collected and shared by all stakeholders across the battery value chain, using a secure and interoperable platform based on data notarization methodologies. The AVL Digital Battery Passport is not only a requirement deriving from the regulation but also a chance to offer value-added services, allow new business models and improve trust and loyalty of the customer by establishing an additional communication channel.
