Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides technical specifications and application details for the Gamma Probes 6150AD-15 and 6150AD-18, which are external probes used with the Dose Rate Meter 6150AD for measuring photon radiation, specifically gamma and X-radiation.
Specifications:
  • Detector: Built-in GM counter.
  • 6150AD-15 Range: 1 mSv/h to 10 Sv/h.
  • 6150AD-18 Range: 2 µSv/h to 10 mSv/h.
  • Features: Automatic range selection, smart time constant, digital calibration, and alarm thresholds for dose and dose rate.
  • Power Supply: Through probe cable, no battery required.
  • Housing: Robust waterproof aluminium, approved by PTB.
Application: These probes are designed for use with the 6150AD meter to measure photon radiation. The choice between the 6150AD-15 and 6150AD-18 depends on the expected dose rate range. The probes are suitable for situations where the measurement location is difficult to access or when extending the dose rate range is necessary.
Accessories:
  • Probe Cable: Required for operation, available in various lengths up to 100 meters.
  • Source Holder 761.2: Optional accessory for mounting check sources for radiological checks.
Technical Data:
  • Energy Range: 65 keV to 1.3 MeV for 6150AD-18 and 65 keV to 3 MeV for 6150AD-15.
  • Angular Range: ±60° for 6150AD-18 and ±45° for 6150AD-15.
  • Weight and Dimensions: 6150AD-18 is approximately 110 g, 6150AD-15 is approximately 75 g.
  • Housing: Black anodised aluminium, waterproof, IP 67 protection class.
  • Temperature Range: -30°C to +50°C.
  • Alarm Thresholds: Programmable for dose and dose rate with smart models 6150AD5 & AD6.
Performance:
  • Overload Resistance: Up to 50 times the full range, not exceeding 100 Sv/h.
  • Instrumental Background: Approximately 10 nSv/h for 6150AD-18 and 30 nSv/h for 6150AD-15.
  • Linearity: Deviation max. ±10%, calibrated with Cs-137.
Conclusion: The Gamma Probes 6150AD-15 and 6150AD-18 are versatile tools for measuring photon radiation, offering a range of features and specifications suitable for various applications in radiation measurement.

Gamma Probes 6150AD-15 and 6150AD-18-2

The Gamma Probes 6150AD-15 and 6150AD-18 are probes to be used with the Dose Rate Meter 6150AD to measure photon radiation (gamma and X-radiation). Both probes use a GM counting tube as the detector. They differ by the type of the built-in counting tube and therefore by dose rate range. If dose rates above 10 mSv/h are unlikely to occur, the 6150AD-18 is preferred, otherwise the 6150AD-15 with its high range up to 10 Sv/h. This data sheet only specifies the probes, not the 6150AD meter the probes are used with. It is assumed throughout this data sheet that the reader is familiar with the 6150AD...
