Product catalog summary
Introduction to Wireless Communication
Wireless communication offers significant advantages such as eliminating the need for control wiring and providing easy extensibility with redundant transmission paths. AUMA has integrated wireless interfaces in their actuators, enabling not only feedback signal transmission but also operation command transmission.

Standardised Transmission
The wireless communication is based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard at 2.4 GHz, featuring AES 128-bit encryption for secure data transmission and protection against unauthorized modifications.

Self-Organising Network
The network is self-organizing, forming a mesh network. By entering a valid join key and network ID, devices can be added to the network, which automatically organizes its topology.

Transmission Range
Indoors, the maximum distance between network participants is approximately 50 meters, while outdoor installations can reach up to 200 meters. Intermediate participants can act as repeaters to extend the range.

Integrated Redundancy
If a participant fails, the mesh network's routing facility automatically reroutes the transmission through another participant.

Wireless Interface and Gateway
The wireless interface is integrated within the actuator controls AC 01.2, suitable for SA multi-turn and SQ part-turn actuators. The wireless gateway coordinates data exchange and ensures network security.

SIMA Master Station
The SIMA Master Station features a user-friendly interface for network status overview and integration with any DCS. It serves as a commissioning system, network manager, data concentrator, and diagnostic tool.

Electric actuators with wireless interface-2

Wireless - Communication for the future The advantages for using wireless information transmission are striking - no controls wiring required and easy to extend, combined with redundant transmission paths. This is the reason why wireless transmission of measurement values to the DCS has been implemented in recent years. Today, AUMA offers actuators equipped with wireless interface, not merely used for wireless transmission of feedback signals from the actuators or between valve and remote control centre but furthermore even for transmission of operation commands to the actuator. Standardised...
