Technology Working Conditions
The ANSz50 compact z-scanner utilizes a piezo-driven lever arm mechanism for vertical movement. It operates effectively within a magnetic field range of 0 to 31 T and a temperature range of 0 to 100 °C for standard conditions, and 1 K to 300 K for low-temperature conditions, with testing at 4.2 K. The maximum bake-out temperature for ultra-high vacuum conditions is 150 °C. Minimum pressure requirements vary from 1E-4 mbar to 5E-11 mbar depending on the version.

The scanner has a footprint of 15 x 15 mm and a height of 6 mm.

Fine Positioning Mode
The scan range is 4.3 µm at 300 K and 2 µm at 4 K, with sub-nanometer resolution.

Coarse Positioning Mode
No coarse positioning capability is available.

Materials
The positioner body is made of titanium, with PZT ceramics used for the actuator and copper wires for connections.

Temperature Dependent Data
At 300 K, the input voltage range is 0 to +60 V, with a typical actuator capacitance of 2500 nF. At 4 K, the input voltage range is 0 to +150 V, with a capacitance of 340 nF.

Load and Accuracy
The maximum vertical load is 50 g, with a maximum torque on the axis of 10 Ncm. The maximum bandwidth is 100 Hz, with repeatability typically at 0.1% and linearity at 5-10%.

Mounting
Frontside mounting is facilitated by two through holes for M1.6 screws, while load mounting uses four threads M1.6.

Different versions are identified by specific article numbers, such as 1002601 for the RT version and 1002605 for the LT/UHV version.
