Description:

The Atmel ATA5577M1330C-PPMY is a contactless read/write RFID transponder designed for 125kHz applications. It includes a plastic brick housing the ATA5577M1330C chip and an antenna coil with a ferrite core. The transponder communicates bi-directionally with a base station, receiving power and data through the RF signal.

General Operation:

The transponder's antenna is a tuned inductor, optimized for 125kHz. Data transmission is achieved through amplitude modulation of the RF signal. The EEPROM can be read and written block-wise, with certain blocks reserved for unique ID and password protection.

Absolute Maximum Ratings:
  • Operating temperature: -40 to +85°C.
  • Storage temperature: -40 to +125°C.
  • Maximum assembly temperature: 170°C for less than 5 minutes.
  • Magnetic field strength at 125kHz: 1000 A/m.
Electrical Characteristics:
  • Inductance: 4.5 mH.
  • Resonance frequency: 120-130 kHz.
  • Quality factor: 43.
  • Field strength for modulation: 14.5 A/m.
Measurement Assembly:

Measurements are conducted using a commercial RFID reader/writer with a specific antenna setup.

Ordering Information:

The transponder is delivered with a default configuration suitable for most applications, with options for customer reprogramming.

Package Information:

Details on the transponder's dimensions and packaging are provided, adhering to DIN technical drawing standards.

Revision History:

Updates to electrical characteristics and measurement assembly sections are noted.

ATA5577M1330C-PPMY Standard Industrial/Consumer Read/Write Transponder-2

Description The Atmel® ATA5577M1330C-PPMY is a contactless read/write identification transponder (IDIC®) for applications in the 125kHz frequency band. It consists of a plastic brick which accommodates the read/write IDIC ATA5577M1330C. The antenna comprises an inductor which in combination of the on-chip capacitor serves as power supply and bi-directional communication interface. The on-chip 363-bit EEPROM (11 blocks with 33 bits each) can be read and written block-wise from a base station (reader). Two dedicated blocks are reserved for setting the IDIC operating modes. Another block may be...
