Product catalog summary
Overview
The Xenotest Beta+ is a sophisticated instrument designed to simulate and accelerate the natural weathering process of materials. It provides reliable results on the long-term behavior of materials under various environmental stresses such as light, heat, and humidity.

Applications and Standards
The Xenotest Beta+ complies with numerous global standards for weathering and lightfastness testing, including AATCC, ASTM, DIN, ISO, and others. This makes it suitable for a wide range of industries, including automotive and materials testing.

Features and Benefits
- User-Friendly Interface: The instrument features a large color touch screen for easy operation and monitoring of test parameters.
- Advanced Sensor Technology: The XENOSENSIV® sensor ensures precise control of irradiance and temperature, calibrated according to DIN EN ISO 17025.
- Versatile Testing Capabilities: It includes an electrical heating system, adjustable blower speed, ultrasonic humidification, and optional specimen spray systems.
- Efficient Operation: The non-ageing XENOCHROME® filter systems reduce operational costs and enhance test precision.

Technology
The Xenotest Beta+ uses filtered xenon radiation to simulate solar radiation. The XENOCHROME filters, with a lifespan of 25,000 hours, meet various industry standards. The system effectively manages UV and visible light while controlling IR radiation to prevent unwanted temperature increases.

Temperature and Humidity Control
The instrument allows for precise control of test chamber and black standard temperatures, essential for reproducibility in testing. Humidity is uniformly adjusted across the sample level, influenced by test chamber temperature and fan frequency.

Optional Accessories
Various accessories are available, including different specimen holders, a thermoprinter for data printouts, and XenoCal sensors for measuring and calibrating irradiance and temperature.

Utility Requirements
The Xenotest Beta+ requires a 400 V electrical supply, with specific requirements for cooling air and purified water for different systems.

Specifications
- Irradiance: 45–120 W/m² for daylight simulation and 35–100 W/m² for behind window glass simulation.
- Temperature Range: Test chamber up to 80 °C, black standard up to 130 °C.
- Humidity Range: 10–95% relative humidity, depending on conditions.

Conclusion
The Xenotest Beta+ is a versatile and reliable instrument for accelerated weathering testing, offering comprehensive features and compliance with international standards, making it an essential tool for material testing and quality assurance.

The Filtered Xenon Radiation in the Xenotest ® Beta+ XENOCHROME 300 or 320 with ten filters of special coated quartz glass simulates the solar radiation as specified in CIE publication No. 85, Table 4, or behind window glass, according to test requirements in the paint and plastics industries. UV and visible light wavelengths pass XENOCHROME filters while IR radiation is reflected and absorbed by three black absorbers. Heat is dissipated by air passing along the xenon lamp and over black absorber panels in the optical filter system. This prevents any unwanted temperature increase. Spectrum Comparison:...

Temperature Regulation in the Xenotest ® Beta+ The Xenotest Beta+ offers the choice of controlling test chamber temperature (CHT) or Black Standard Temperature (BST), or both simultaneously. The lower range of the test chamber temperature depends on the ambient air temperature in the laboratory: by increasing the lab temperature, the temperature in the test chamber increases accordingly. The black standard temperature is determined by the test chamber temperature and humidity. It is also influenced by the airflow rate, the irradiance and the installed filter system. By varying the blower speed...
