Low-Temperature EMMA Testing

Low-Temperature EMMA Testing

Product catalog summary
Temperature’s Effects: ASTM G90 devices are effective for cooling test materials but may not maintain temperatures within acceptable limits, leading to potential degradation and damage to materials.
Benefits of LT-EMMA/EMMAQUA: The new LT-EMMA/EMMAQUA device offers accelerated testing at lower temperatures, suitable for temperature-sensitive materials, and complies with ASTM G90 requirements.
Low-Temperature EMMA/EMMAQUA: This device uses 'cool mirror' technology to provide equivalent radiation exposure with cooler temperatures compared to traditional methods, enhancing testing for materials requiring long service life and temperature sensitivity.
Effects of Low-Temperature Testing: The device maintains lower temperatures while achieving high irradiance levels, addressing concerns over accelerated weathering of temperature-sensitive materials.
Applications: Suitable for adhesives, automotive exteriors, elastomers, packaging, plastics, sealants, agricultural films, building materials, glass, paints, coatings, and roofing.
Global Support and Locations: Atlas provides global support with exposure sites and laboratories in various locations worldwide, including the USA, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

THE BENEFITS OF LOW-TEMPERATURE TESTING What is the Low-Temperature EMMA ®/EMMAQUA ®? The Low-Temperature EMMA/EMMAQUA (LT-EMMA/ EMMAQUA) is Atlas’ latest innovation that utilizes “cool mirror” technology in natural exposure testing. This new outdoor testing device delivers more than 5 years of equivalent radiation exposure as would be received in a standard outdoor testing rack in South Florida in a single year, but with much cooler sample temperatures when compared to traditional EMMA/EMMAQUA testing. What are the Benefits? The new LT-EMMA/EMMAQUA device performs accelerated testing while:...

Effects of Low-Temperature Testing The Low-Temperature EMMA®/EMMAQUA® device provides a solution to long-standing concerns over outdoor accelerated weathering of temperature-sensitive materials (Figure 2). Analyzing black standard temperature (BST) and black panel temperature (BPT) measurements on the Atlas LT-EMMA/EMMAQUA device has shown that temperatures remain significantly lower than that of standard ASTM G90 devices (Figure 3) while successfully achieving high irradiance levels (Figure 4). Comparison of Black Standard Exposure Temperatures Comparison of Exposure Irradiances 3.5 3 Black...
