Product Description
The SME-X+ is an advanced version of the Atlas Copco PES membrane filters, designed for bioburden control and sterilization in the Food & Beverage and Chemical industries. It features a double-layer asymmetric, hydrophilic PES membrane with low extractable and protein binding properties, combined with PET support layers and nylon end supports for enhanced wettability.

Devices and Compatibility
Available in various cartridge sizes, SME-X+ filters use polypropylene cores and cages, nylon end supports, and PET support layers. They are thermally welded for integrity and offer broad chemical compatibility, allowing for chemical regeneration.

Documentation and Regulatory Compliance
Manufactured under ISO 9001 standards, SME-X+ filters comply with EU and US regulations for food contact materials. They are non-fiber releasing and meet ASTM F838-05 bacterial retention standards.

Quality Assurance
Each filter cartridge comes with an electronic Certificate of Conformity, detailing test data and compliance information. Production occurs in ISO 14644-1 Class 7 cleanrooms.

Applications
SME-X+ filters are suitable for a wide range of applications, including cold stabilization of alcoholic drinks, sterilization of bottled water, and final filtration in beverage production.

Micron ratings range from 0.2-0.1 to 1.2-0.65 µm, with cartridge lengths from 10” to 40”. The filters can withstand maximum operating temperatures of 82°C and various sterilization and sanitization cycles.
