Hypoid gearboxes

Product catalog summary
Overview: This document is a technical catalogue for ATEK's hypoid gearboxes, focusing on specifications, construction, and performance data. It details various types and sizes of gearboxes, emphasizing design, efficiency, and application.
Specifications:
  • Gear ratios range from 8:1 to 15:1, with custom ratios available.
  • Maximum output torque is 1450 Nm.
  • Available in six sizes with edge lengths from 090 to 260 mm.
  • Low-backlash construction with less than 4 angular minutes.
  • Housings made of aluminum, with steel or casting for shaft suspension units.
Construction and Design:
  • Features high-quality hypoid toothing made of hardened carburised steel for high loads.
  • Modular construction allows various configurations, including different shaft types and rotational directions.
  • Threaded mounting holes on multiple sides for flexible installation.
  • Can be installed in any position, with horizontal shafts recommended.
Performance and Efficiency:
  • Efficiency is approximately 95%, influenced by speed, torque, installation position, sealing, and lubricant type.
  • Lifetime lubrication is standard, with synthetic lubricants recommended.
  • Vent filters provided if venting is required, with installation instructions included.
Backlash and Lubrication:
  • Low-backlash achieved by manufacturing the tooth space larger than the tooth.
  • Circumferential backlash measured in arc minutes, with options for standard and special gear sets.
Performance Data:
  • Tables provide detailed performance data for different sizes and gear ratios, including rotational speeds and torque values.
  • Permissible radial and axial forces on shafts specified for each gearbox size.
Additional Features:
  • Protection class is IP 54, with corrosion protection through a prime coat.
  • Bearing life exceeds 15,000 hours, with oil change intervals specified to extend bearing life.
Contact Information: Includes contact details for ATEK and its partners worldwide, covering locations in multiple countries.

The axles intersect in the gearbox at the distance A in an angle of 90°. The standard version of the mounting / fastening has the order code 9. Example of order code: H 090 12:1 D0 9.1 8.2.4 Installation position The gearboxes can be used in all installation positions. The recommended installation position is the position in which the shafts are horizontal. These are the installation positions 1 and 2. The installation position is defined by the gearbox side directed downwards during operation and will be indicated by the corresponding gearbox side. Example of order code for the installation...

8.2.6 Preferred direction of rotation If the clockwise (CW) direction of rotation (viewing direction from shaft end face of the fast-rotating shaft towards the gearbox centre) is selected, a lower noise level is generated. 8.2.7 Efficiency The achievable efficiency depends on rotational speed, torque, installation position, sealing, and lubricant type. The efficiency is about 95%. The efficiency specified relates to the permissible nominal load and is a guidance value for run-in gearboxes at operating temperature with standard sealing. The H-series gearboxes have lifetime lubrication. 8.2.9 Vent...
