Hygiene-design gearboxes

Product catalog summary
Overview: This document is a technical catalogue for ATEK's HDV series hygiene-design bevel gearboxes, tailored for the food and pharmaceutical industries. These gearboxes are crafted from stainless steel to adhere to stringent hygiene standards.
Specifications:
  • Gear ratios range from 1:1 to 6:1.
  • Maximum output torque is 430 Nm.
  • Available in four sizes with edge lengths from 65 mm to 140 mm.
  • Low-backlash construction with less than 10 angular minutes possible.
  • All external parts are made of VA steel.
Design Features:
  • High-quality stainless steel construction for all external parts.
  • Additional dust lip on shaft seal rings.
  • No bores or dust pockets in housing and flanges; application-specific mounting bores.
  • Surface roughness is less than Ra 0.8.
  • NOTOX lubrication for lifetime use.
Performance:
  • Efficiency of 97% for single gear set and 94% for multiple gear meshings.
  • Preferred clockwise rotation reduces noise by 1 to 2 dB(A).
  • Can be installed in any position, with horizontal shaft positions recommended.
Construction Types: The modular system allows for various configurations based on shaft type, number, rotational direction, and bearing support.
Ordering Options: Threaded mounting holes can be customized, and the order code reflects customer specifications.
Corrosion Protection: All components are made from rust-proof stainless steel.
Additional Features:
  • Etched type plate for identification.
  • No vent filters required.
  • Protection class IP 56.
  • Operating temperature range from -10°C to +90°C.
Performance Data: Detailed tables provide performance metrics such as speed, power, and torque for different gearbox sizes and gear ratios.
Specifications: The document details spiral toothed bevel gear sets with gear ratios from 1:1 to 6:1. Housing and flanges are made from materials 1.4581 and 1.4305, respectively. Shafts are made from 1.4305, with greased ends and fit with ISO 6 and ISO 7 tolerances for solid and hollow shafts, respectively. The radial shaft seal ring is made of NBR, form A. The ambient temperature range is -10°C to +90°C, with performance values valid at +20°C. The circumferential backlash is less than 30 arcmin, and the protection class is IP 56. The bearing life exceeds 15,000 hours, with no oil change required due to synthetic, NSF-approved lubricants.
Performance Data: Performance data is provided for various rotational speeds (n1 and n2) and includes torque (T2), radial force (Fr), and axial force (Fa) values. Permissible radial and axial forces depend on torque, rotational speed, and direction, and must be calculated for specific applications.
Models and Dimensions: Various models (A0, B0, C0, etc.) are listed with their respective inertia moments and mass. Dimensions for each gear ratio are provided, including diameter (d), length (l), and other critical measurements. The mass of the gearbox may vary depending on the gear ratio.
Additional Information: The document includes detailed tables and charts for performance data, inertia moments, and permissible forces. It also references specific chapters for more detailed information on certain specifications and procedures.

The HDV-series gearboxes are intended for the use in food and pharmaceutical industries (including offshore and rough conditions). They are based on our proven standard gearboxes from the range of single-stage bevel gearboxes (V series) and have therefore the same external dimensions. They vary in the following features: • All outside parts are made of high-quality stainless steel. • The shaft seal rings installed in the type have an additional dust lip. • The housing and the flanges do not contain any bores or other dust pockets. • Required mounting bores will be drilled application-specifically...

Example of order code: HDV 090 1:1D0 1.1 500/0000 The size and the position of the threaded mounting holes correspond to those of the type V (page 29 and following) HDV 065 Thread size The gearboxes can be used in all installation positions. The recommended installation position is the position in which the shafts are horizontal. These are the installation positions 1 and 2. The installation position is defined by the gearbox side directed downwards during operation and will be indicated by the corresponding...

7.2.11 Low-backlash construction For low-friction running, the tooth space in the gear set is manufactured larger than the tooth. When the direction of rotation is changed, this results in a rotation angle until the counter-rotating tooth flanks contact each other. This rotation angle is called circumferential backlash. Circumferential backlash, measuring method The circumferential backlash is measured after the drive shaft (N1) has been fixed. A force of around 2% of the nominal torque is applied to the output shaft (N2) in both rotational directions. A tooth backlash will result between the...
