Engine Specifications
The DD-1416 is equipped with a Cummins B3.3C diesel engine, delivering 65 hp (48.5 kW) at 2200 rpm. It has a fuel capacity of 30 U.S. gallons (113 L) for an eight-hour operating capacity and a hydraulic capacity of 25 U.S. gallons (114 L). The drive system features a tandem pump.

Rotary Drive
The rotary system utilizes a pinion and gear drive with infinitely variable torque, providing a high torque of 1,600 ft-lb (2,170 Nm) and a maximum rotary speed of 200 rpm.

Carriage Drive
The carriage drive offers a maximum thrust/pullback of 14,000 lbs (6.35 tonnes) with a two-speed floating carriage and dual rack and pinion system. The carriage speed can reach up to 120 ft/min (36.6 m/min).

Drilling Unit
The unit is self-propelled on rubber tracks with a flat surface speed of up to 1.8 mph (2.9 km/h) forward and reverse. Optional drill pipe is available in lengths of 10 ft (3.05 m) with an outside diameter of 1.90 in (48.26 mm) or 1.66 in (42.16 mm). The tool joint O.D. is 2.13 in (54.10 mm) with a fluid course of .625 in (15.88 mm).

Protective Equipment
Standard equipment includes a Zap-Alert System, an emergency shutdown switch at the driller’s console and tram control, and the ES!LOK® exit-side lockout system.
