Product catalog summary
Specifications
ASC's General Purpose IEPE accelerometers, models P101A15 and P101A25, offer dynamic ranges of ±50g, ±100g, ±500g, and ±1000g. They are designed with a stud mount and come with either a side or top connector. The devices are hermetically sealed, have a high resonance frequency (>50kHz), and a wide bandwidth (±1dB, 10kHz). They are lightweight (<10 grams) and operate within a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. The accelerometers feature an annular shear design and TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) options.
Options
Custom cable lengths and DAkkS calibration are available as options.
Applications
These accelerometers are suitable for general-purpose vibration and shock monitoring, test and measurement applications, modal applications, and high-frequency applications.
Description
The P101A15 and P101A25 are analog voltage output sensors based on piezoelectric annular shear design, providing excellent immunity against base strain and temperature transients. The P101A15 has a side exit connector, while the P101A25 has a top exit connector. Both models feature a rugged stainless steel housing that is corrosion-proof and chemical-resistant. They can withstand shocks up to 5000g’s and incorporate welded hermetic construction. The sensors use industry-standard 10-32 coaxial connectors and are available with built-in TEDS.
Piezoelectric IEPE Technology
The accelerometers are made of piezoelectric ceramics and operate over a frequency range from 0.3Hz to 10kHz. They are IEPE sensors that produce an output voltage proportional to the input acceleration, featuring a built-in preamplifier and a charge to voltage converter. They operate on a 2-10mA constant-current supply and use a two-wire coaxial cable for power input and signal output.
Typical Specifications
The accelerometers have a sensitivity of ±10% mV/g, with full-scale output voltage of ±5V. They have an amplitude response of ±5% from 0.5 to 6kHz or 0.5 to 8kHz, and a phase response of ±10° from 0.5 to 10kHz. The resonance frequency is 50kHz, and they have a shock limit of ±5000g. The excitation voltage is 18 to 30V DC, with a supply current of 2 to 10mA. The sensors have a bias voltage of 10±2V at room temperature and 10±4V across the full temperature range. The output impedance is less than 100Ω, and the discharge time constant is 0.8 to 1.2 seconds.
Environmental and Physical Characteristics
The sensors have a temperature coefficient of sensitivity of +0.02%/°C from -55°C to +80°C and -0.04%/°C from +80°C to +125°C. They are hermetically sealed and made of stainless steel. The sensing element is PZT with a shear design. The mounting options include adhesive or stud, with a mounting torque of 2 N-m. The weight is 8.6 grams for the P101A15 and 7.3 grams for the P101A25.
Calibration and Ordering Information
Factory calibration is supplied with the sensor, and DAkkS calibration is available separately. The sensors can be ordered with specific ranges and connector types. Accessories include cable assemblies with various lengths and temperature ratings.

The accelerometers are IEPE (lntegrated_Electronics PiezoElectric) sensors that produce an output voltage proportional to the input acceleration. The sensors feature a built-in preamplifier and a charge to voltage converter that transforms the high-impedance charge output from the piezoelectric ceramic (Lead Zirconate Titanate, PZT) into a low-impedance voltage output that is suitable to drive long cables. ASC's IEPE sensors operate on a 2-10mA constant-current supply and use a two-wire coaxial cable for power input and signal output. Description ASC's General Purpose IEPE accelerometers, P101A15 and P101A25, are analog voltage output sensors. These piezoelectric vibration sensors are used typically in general purpose vibration and shock monitoring applications. The sensors are based on a piezoelectric annular shear design, which provides excellent immunity against base strain and temperature transients.
