Overview
The torque coil is a highly flexible component designed for high-speed rotation in complex pathways or anatomical structures. It is commonly used in applications such as Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) catheters, or atherectomy devices.
Specifications- Types: The coil is available in round and flat wire types. The round type is ideal for applications requiring high-speed rotation, while the flat type offers better elongation resistance.
- Layer Options: The coil can be configured in 2 or 3 layers, each with specific dimensions and characteristics.
- Dimensions:
- 2-layer coil: Outer Diameter (OD) ranges from 0.44-1.68 mm (trial range: 0.30-5.17 mm), Inner Diameter (ID) ranges from 0.18-1.10 mm (trial range: 0.15-3.55 mm), with a filar length of 4-18 and up to 3000 mm in length.
- 3-layer coil: OD ranges from 0.36-2.76 mm (trial range: 0.36-6.05 mm), ID ranges from 0.18-1.71 mm (trial range: 0.18-5.25 mm), with a filar length of 4-18 and up to 3000 mm in length.
- Auger Option: The torque coil can be equipped with a spiral wire, functioning as an Archimedes screw.
Performance Ratings
The performance of the torque coil is rated on a scale from 1 to 5, with 5 indicating the highest applicability. Key performance metrics include rotation direction, high-speed rotation capability, flexibility, and elongation resistance.
