Hard Ferrite Material

Product catalog summary
Introduction
ARNOX® ceramic permanent magnets are tailored to meet specific needs, with engineering support available for design assistance.
General Characteristics
Composed of strontium carbonate and iron oxide, ARNOX magnets are cost-effective due to inexpensive raw materials. They are chemically inert, non-conductive, and possess high electrical resistivity. The Curie temperature is around 450°C, requiring a magnetizing force of approximately 15,000 oersteds for saturation. Demagnetization can occur through high alternating fields or heating above the Curie temperature.
Temperature Effects
Temperature changes can lead to reversible and irreversible magnetization changes. Reversible changes occur at -0.2% per degree C for flux and +0.27% per degree C for intrinsic coercivity. Adequate magnetic length can prevent irreversible changes.
Applications
The isotropic grade AC-1 can be magnetized in any direction, while anisotropic grades require magnetization in their orientation direction. Custom grades are available for specific uses.
Standard Tolerances
Unfinished surfaces have specific dimensional tolerances, while finished surfaces have tighter tolerances and specified roughness. Squareness and warp are controlled within set limits.
Design Considerations
Designs should minimize manufacturing challenges by following guidelines such as limiting thickness in the pressing direction and avoiding abrupt cross-section changes.
Magnetic Grades
ARNOX magnets come in various grades, with typical values provided for each, aligning with USA, IEC, and Chinese standards.
Features of ARNOX Magnets
Offering a range of sizes, shapes, and grades, ARNOX magnets provide excellent value in price and performance, are corrosion-resistant, and can endure long-term high-temperature exposure.
Limited Warranty
Arnold Magnetics Ltd. offers a warranty covering material and workmanship defects, with repair or replacement as the sole remedy.

April 2003 Page: 3 or ±.010 in. (.25 mm), whichever is greater Design Considerations When considering a new design using ARNOX magnets, in order to minimize the potential for manufacturing difficulties and to be more assured of a satisfactory, and perhaps less costly product, one should bear in mind a few “rules of thumb”: The maximum thickness in the direction of pressing should be approximately one inch, and this dimension (also called the magnetic length) should be less than any other dimension. If greater thickness is needed for a particular application, two or more magnets may be stacked...
