Product catalog summary
Functional Description:
The document describes hand-lever operated 4/3 and 4/2-way spool type directional control valves. These valves are primarily used to control the start, stop, and direction of fluid flow. The actuating section can be rotated in four positions, 90° apart, and the installation dimensions comply with DIN 24 340 / ISO 4401 / CETOP RP121-H standards. The valves are available in two-position and three-position configurations, with options for return springs or a detent assembly to hold the spool in place.
Technical Specifications:
  • Valve Size: 04 (D 02)
  • Maximum Flow: 30 L/min (8.0 GPM)
  • Maximum Operating Pressure: 320 bar (4600 PSI) at ports P, A, B; 100 bar (1450 PSI) at port T
  • Fluid Temperature Range: -30 to +100°C (-22 to +212°F) for NBR seals; -20 to +120°C (-4 to +248°F) for Viton seals
  • Viscosity Range: 20 to 400 mm²/s (98 to 1840 SUS)
  • Fluid Contamination: Class 21/18/15 to ISO 4406
  • Operating Force on Lever: < 40 N (<8.99 lbs)
  • Service Life: 1 million cycles
  • Weight: 1.0 kg (2.21 lbs)
  • Mounting Position: Unrestricted
Spool Symbols and Pressure Characteristics:
The document includes various spool symbols and their corresponding pressure drop characteristics, measured at a viscosity of 32 mm²/s (156 SUS). The pressure drop is related to the flow rate, with specific values provided for different spool types.
Valve Dimensions and Additional Information:
Dimensions are provided in both inches and millimeters. The document notes that directional valves with other functional symbols can be delivered upon request. It also mentions that the plastic packaging is recyclable and that mounting bolts or studs must be ordered separately. Certified documentation is available upon request.
Spare Parts and Seal Kits:
  • Standard NBR70 and Viton seal kits are available, with specific dimensions and ordering numbers provided.
  • Bolt kit details include dimensions, quantity, bolt torque, and ordering number.

Datasheet RPR3-04-1

Directional Control Valves Manually Operated 4/3 and 4/2- way spool type directional control valves Hand-lever operated Actuating section can be rotated in four positions 90° apart Installation dimensions acording to DIN 24 340 / ISO 4401 / CETOP RP121-H Functional Description The hand operated directional control valves are used mainly to control start, stop and direction of fluid. The valves consist of housing (1) with control spool (2) and the actuating section (3). The actuating section consists either of the hand lever (4) and of one or two return springs (5), or of the hand lever (4) and the detent assembly (6). The detent assembly holds the spool in its last shifted position. The directional control valves are being manufactured as two-position and three-position valves (see table with functional symbols). The valve housing (1) is phosphate coated, the components of the actuating section (3) are zinc coated. Type with return springs Type with detent assembly
