Model 77 - Economical Pipe/Fusion Weld Head

Product catalog summary
Overview
The document introduces the Model 77 series of weld heads, designed to enhance the capabilities of existing Model 95 and Model 15 weld heads for thin-wall pipe and tube applications. The Model 77 is a cost-effective solution for applications requiring wire feed and can be equipped with a programmable AVC/OSC assembly.

Specifications
The Model 77 weld head features a modular construction with a front-end torch assembly and a rotor assembly. It supports a wide range of pipe and tube sizes, with an outer diameter (OD) range of 3” to 20” (76 mm to 508 mm). The travel/rotation speed is 0.5 - 10 IPM, and it operates at 250 A with a 100% duty cycle.

Torch Adjustments
The torch allows for lead/lag adjustments of +/- 10°, steering range of 1” (25.4 mm), and tilt in/out adjustments of +/- 15°.

Wire Feeder
The wire feeder operates at 0.5 - 100 IPM using 5 VDC with tachometer feedback. It supports a wire spool size of 0.038” standard and filler wire sizes of 0.30” - 0.45” Ø.

Weight
The weld head weighs between 25 - 35 lbs. (11.3 - 16 kg).

Standard Features
Includes manual arc length control, manual cross-seam adjustment, a 250 A water-cooled torch with an integral gas lens, vertical and cross-seam wire feed alignment, and a programmable wire feeder.

Optional Hardware
Direct-view cameras for monitoring weld puddles and an AVC and Oscillator assembly are available as optional hardware.

Compatible Power Supplies
The Model 77 is compatible with Model 415, Model 227, Model 307, and Model 207 power supplies (with an adapter for fusion welding without wire feed).

Rotor Assemblies
The rotor assemblies are durable systems that rotate the welding torch around the pipe under programmable motor control. They can be adjusted for various pipe sizes using spacer feet and are available in three sizes: M77-8625, M77-12750, and M77-20000.

Model 77 - Economical Pipe/Fusion Weld Head-1

ECONOMICAL PIPE/FUSION WELD HEAD The widest range of orbital welding equipment in the world The Model 77 series of three weld heads is designed to complement our existing range of Model 95 weld heads and bridge the capabilities between the Model 95 and Model 15 weld heads for thin-wall pipe and tube applications. The Model 77 weld head is a cost effective solution for applications requiring wire feed. As an option the weld head can be ordered with a programmable AVC/OSC assembly. Each Model 77 consists of a modular front-end (torch) assembly and a rotor assembly. The modular construction of the Model 77 weld heads allows the use of one front-end assembly and one or more rotor assemblies, allowing welding operations to be economically performed over a wide range of pipe and tube sizes.
