The AquaNereda® technology is an advanced biological wastewater treatment system utilizing aerobic granular biomass. Batch Cycle Structure
The AquaNereda® system operates in three main phases:

Fill/Draw Phase: Involves influent flow and biomass conditioning under anoxic and anaerobic conditions, promoting phosphorus release and removal.
React Phase: Aerobic and anoxic conditions facilitate simultaneous nitrification/denitrification and phosphorus uptake, optimizing energy use.
Settle Phase: Granular biomass separates from treated water, with excess sludge removed to maintain biomass levels.

Development and Expansion
The technology was developed through a partnership in the Netherlands, led by Delft University of Technology and Royal HaskoningDHV. It has become a globally applied, sustainable wastewater treatment solution. Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. is the exclusive provider in the United States.
