Physical and Chemical Properties
Typical physical properties include hardness, tensile strength, elongation at break, and compression set. For example, PERFREZ® 9071D has a Shore A hardness of 75, tensile strength of 15.74 MPa, elongation at break of 160%, and compression set of 17.4% after 70 hours at 200°C.
Chemical Resistance
Volume swell testing categorizes chemical resistance as follows:
- A: Volume swelling <10% (excellent resistance)
- B: 10-30%
- C: 30-50%
- D: >50% (poor resistance)
PERFREZ® compounds generally show excellent resistance (A) to inorganic acids, organic acids, alkalis, water/steam, hydrocarbons, sour gas, lubricants, and fluorinated fluids. Some compounds have limitations with amines and hot amines.
