CMV300, high speed CMOS image sensor

CMV300, high speed CMOS image sensor

Product catalog summary
Sensor Description: The CMV300 is a global shutter CMOS image sensor with a resolution of 648 by 488 pixels in a 1/3" optical format. It features 7.4 µm by 7.4 µm pipelined global shutter pixels, allowing exposure during readout while performing CDS operation to reduce fixed pattern and dark noise. The sensor offers 4 12-bit digital LVDS outputs at 300 Mbps or a 10-bit parallel CMOS output. It includes a programmable gain amplifier and offset regulation, achieving a frame rate of 300 fps at full resolution in 10-bit mode. Higher frame rates are possible with row-windowing or row-subsampling modes. Operations are programmable via a SPI interface, and the sensor supports multiple high dynamic range modes.
Application Fields: The CMV300 is suitable for machine vision, motion analysis, and high-speed inspection.
Sensor Features: Key features include a pipelined global shutter with CDS correction, 648 (H) x 488 (V) active pixels, 300 fps at full resolution in 10-bit mode (LVDS), dark reference rows and columns, ROI windowing capability, X-Y mirroring function, and a master clock range of 10-50MHz. It supports multiple high dynamic range modes, has an on-chip temperature sensor, timing generation, black reference, and SPI control. The sensor operates with 3.3V and 1.8V signaling and is available in monochrome and Bayer (RGB) configurations.
Sensor Specifications: The CMV300 has a resolution of 0.3MP, a pixel size of 7.4 x 7.4 µm², and an optical format of 1/3''. It features a pipelined global shutter with true CDS, a frame rate of 300 fps (10-bit), and output interfaces including 4 LVDS outputs at 300 Mbps and a 10-bit CMOS output at 50 MHz (150 fps). The sensor's sensitivity is 6 V/lux.s, with a conversion gain of 0.032 LSB/e-, full well charge of 32000 e-, dark noise of 20 e- (RMS), and a dynamic range of 64.1 dB. It supports an extended dynamic range up to 90 dB, with a dark current of 100 e-/s at 25°C, and fixed pattern noise of less than 1 LSB. The sensor is available in monochrome and RGB, with a supply voltage of 1.8V / 3.3V, power consumption of 300 mW, and an operating temperature range of -30 to +70°C.
Ordering Information: The product is available in two versions: CMV300-2E7M1WP (Monochrome with micro lenses) and CMV300-2E7C1WP (RGB Bayer color with micro lenses).

CMV300, high speed CMOS image sensor-1

CMV300 VGA high speed global shutter image sensor SENSOR DESCRIPTION The CMV300 is a global shutter CMOS image sensor with 648 by 488 pixels in a 1/3“ optical format. The image array consists of 7.4 µm by 7.4 µm pipelined global shutter pixels, which allow exposure during read out while performing CDS operation reducing fixed pattern and dark noise significantly. The CMV300 has 4 12-bit digital LVDS outputs (serial) each running at 300 Mbps or one 10-bit parallel CMOS output. The image sensor also integrates a programmable gain amplifier and offset regulation. Each channel runs at 300 Mbps maximum, which results in 300 fps frame rate at full resolution in 10-bit mode. Higher frame rates can be achieved in row-windowing mode or row-subsampling mode. All operation modes are all programmable using a SPI interface. A programmable on-board sequencer generates all internal exposure and read out timings. External triggering and exposure programming is also possible. Extended optical dynamic range can be achieved by multiple integrated high dynamic range modes. A 12-bit per pixel mode is available at reduced frame rates.
