CMV12000

Product catalog summary
Sensor Description: The CMV12000 is a high-speed global shutter CMOS image sensor with a resolution of 4096 by 3072 pixels, suitable for super HD imaging (4k). It features 5.5 µm by 5.5 µm pipelined global shutter pixels, allowing exposure during readout and reducing noise. The sensor has 64 12-bit digital LVDS outputs, each running at 300 Mbps, enabling a frame rate of 150 fps at full resolution in 10-bit mode. It supports higher frame rates through row-windowing or subsampling modes, all programmable via a SPI interface. The sensor includes a programmable gain amplifier, offset regulation, and multiple high dynamic range modes.
Application Fields: The CMV12000 is ideal for machine vision, motion control, traffic monitoring, high-speed inspection, and broadcast applications.
Sensor Features: Key features include a pipelined global shutter with CDS, 150 fps at full resolution in 10-bit mode, ROI windowing capability, X-Y mirroring, multiple HDR modes up to 90dB, on-chip temperature sensor, SPI control, and monochrome and Bayer (RGB) configurations. It is housed in a ceramic 237-pin µPGA package with AR-coated cover glass.
Sensor Specifications: The sensor offers a 12MP resolution, 5.5 µm pixel size, 150 fps frame rate in 10-bit mode, and 90 fps in 12-bit mode. It has a sensitivity of 4.64 V/lux.s, a dynamic range of 60 dB, and supports extended dynamic range up to 90 dB. The operating temperature range is -30 to +70°C, and it complies with RoHS standards.
Ordering Information: Available in monochrome and RGB Bayer color versions, both with micro lenses.

The image array consists of 5.5 um by 5.5 um pipelined global shutter pixels, which allow exposure during read out while performing CDS operation reducing fixed pattern and dark noise significantly. The CMV12000 has 64 12-bit digital LVDS outputs (serial) each running at 300 Mbps. The image sensor also integrates a programmable gain amplifier and offset regulation. Each channel runs at 300 Mbps maximum, which results in 150 fps frame rate at full resolution in 10bit mode. Higher frame rates can be achieved in row-windowing mode or row-subsampling mode. All operation modes are all programmable using a SPI interface. A programmable on-board sequencer generates all internal exposure and read out timings. External triggering and exposure programming is also possible. Extended optical dynamic range can be achieved by multiple integrated high dynamic range modes. A 12-bit per pixel mode is available at reduced frame rates.
