CHR70M

Product catalog summary
Sensor Description: The CHR70M is a high-resolution CMOS image sensor featuring 10,000 by 7,096 pixels. It utilizes 3.1µm x 3.1µm pinned diode pixels with a 2-pixel sharing configuration. The sensor includes 8 analog outputs operating at 30MHz, achieving a frame rate of 3fps at full resolution. It supports higher frame rates through windowing or subsampling modes. The sensor integrates a programmable gain amplifier and offset regulation, all configurable via an SPI interface. An on-board sequencer manages internal exposure and readout timings, with options for external triggering and exposure programming.
Application Fields: The sensor is suitable for ultra-high-resolution imaging, document scanning, flat panel and PCB inspection, and aerial photography.
Sensor Features: Key features include an electronic rolling shutter, 10000 (H) x 7096 (V) active pixels on a 3.1µm pitch, 3 frames per second at full resolution, ROI capability with moving window functionality, a master clock at 30MHz, 8 analog outputs at 30MHz, on-chip timing generation, SPI control, 3.3V signaling, monochrome and Bayer (RGB) configurations, and a ceramic PGA package with 65 pins.
Sensor Specifications: The CHR70M offers a resolution of 70MP, an optical format of 35mm, and an electronic rolling shutter with true CDS correction. It has a sensitivity of 0.88 V/lux.s, a conversion gain of 64 uV/e-, a full well charge of 13,000 e-, dark noise of 7 e- (RMS), a dynamic range of 63 dB, and a maximum SNR of 41.1 dB. The sensor operates at a supply voltage of 3.3V, with a power consumption of 300 mW, and an operating temperature range of -30 to +70 degrees Celsius. It is RoHS compliant and comes in a 65-pin PGA package.
Ordering Information: The CHR70M is available in several versions: RGB Bayer color version with micro lenses (CHR70M-1E5C1PA), monochrome version with micro lenses (CHR70M-1E5M1PA), and monochrome version without micro lenses (CHR70M-1E5M0PA). Note that this sensor is not for sale for biometric applications.

The image array consists of 3.1µm x 3.1µm pinned diode pixels, which share a number of transistors (2 pixels sharing). The image sensor has 8 analog outputs, each running at 30MHz resulting in a frame rate of 3fps at full resolution. Higher frame rates can be achieved in windowing mode or subsampling mode. The image sensor also integrates a programmable gain amplifier and offset regulation. These and other settings are all programmable using the SPI interface. A programmable on-board sequencer generates all internal exposure and read out timings. External triggering and exposure programming is also possible.
