Hydro-Mechanical Diesel Fuel Shutoff Valve

Product catalog summary

Key Benefits:

  • Positive fuel shutoff without a needle valve.
  • Engine idling capability with a needle valve.
  • Easy mounting and low friction seals.
  • Excellent repeatability and operation based on engine oil pressure.

Typical Applications:

  • Fuel shutdown or idle valve for diesel or gasoline engines.
  • Pressure drop sensing from a hydraulic system circuit.
  • Suitable for mining machinery and other non-electric monitoring machinery.

Model 4164 Overview:

The Model 4164 is a hydromechanical diesel fuel shutoff valve. It operates mechanically using lube-oil pressure as the control medium, eliminating risks associated with vibration, corrosion, or electrical power failure.

Operation:

  • The valve reset knob must be set to 'start' to initiate operation. It automatically shifts to 'run' if equipped with an auto reset latch dropout. Without this feature, the knob must be manually held until oil pressure builds.
  • Key operational parameters include a rise of trip setting per 100 psi fuel pressure increase and maximum working pressures for fuel and pressure ports.

Specifications:

  • Falling pressure settings range from 5.0 psi to 20.0 psi with associated codes for ordering.
  • Thread and body styles include NPT and BSPTr with or without needle valves.
  • Reset latch dropout options include manual reset with self-latching or hold for oil pressure.
  • Special construction options are available upon request.
