Product catalog summary
Key Features and Benefits
  • Pinpoints trouble in systems.
  • Operates over a wide pressure range.
  • Constructed with gulfproofed aluminum for corrosion resistance.
  • Suitable for oil, gas, or air pressured systems.
Typical Applications
  • Engines
  • Pumps
  • Compressors
Overview

The AMOT Model 4054 Trip Indicator is designed to identify which sensing device in a safety control system has tripped, causing an engine shutdown. It is resistant to corrosion in seacoast environments and can be used in air, gas, or oil safety control systems. It is compatible with various AMOT sensing valves, including temperature and pressure valves, but not suitable for valves with metal-to-metal seats or where leakage is expected.

Specifications
  • Body Material: Gulfproofed aluminum
  • Shaft Material: Stainless steel
  • Seal Material: Viton
  • Cover Material: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
  • Operating Pressure: Minimum 69 kPa (10 psi), Maximum 550 kPa (80 psi)
  • Net Weight: 0.11 kg (4 oz)
Operation

The 4054 is typically connected to the VENT port of an AMOT sensing valve. When the valve vents, the pressure extends the red shaft, which is latched in place to prevent reset from vibration. The shaft is manually reset by pressing the plastic cover until it is flush with the indicator face. In systems using lube oil as the control medium, a shutdown without indication suggests low oil pressure.

Installation

The Trip Indicator can be connected directly to the VENT port of the AMOT sensing valve or mounted remotely.

4054 Pneumatic Trip Indicator-1

Trip Indicator Model 4054 Overview AMOT Model 4054 Indicator is designed to show which sensing device in a safety control system has tripped and caused the engine to shut down. The 4054 is gulfproofed to resist corrosion in seacoast atmospheres and is suitable for air, gas or oil safety control systems. Any number of Sensing Valves and Trip Indicators may be used in the safety systems. Model 4054 Trip Indicator may be used with many AMOT sensing valves, including Temperature Valves and Pressure Valves. This indicator is not suitable for use with sensing valves which have metal-to-metal seats or where some leakage past the seat is expected. Trip Indicator - Model 4054 The 4054 is typically piped to the VENT port of an AMOT sensing Valve. When the sensing valve vents, the pressure forces the red shaft of the 4054 out where it can be seen. A small detent latches the shaft when fully extended, preventing resent due to vibration. The shaft is manually reset by pushing on the flexible plastic cover until the shaft is flush with the indicator face. Because lube oil is the control medium in the typical system shown in Figure 2, there will not be direct indication when shutdown is due to low oil pressure. If there is a system shutdown and...
