The American Flow Control 5 1/4” B-62-B-5 Fire Hydrant complies with ANSI/AWWA C502 standards and is UL Listed and FM Approved in applicable configurations. It features a one-piece bronze operating nut with a removable pipe plug for lubrication, a top travel stop nut to limit rod travel, and a two-section high-tensile steel hydrant rod. The upper barrel is coated with an E-coat primer and a two-part polyurethane top coat for durability.
Construction Details:
The hydrant includes a stainless steel hydrant spring for quick drain closure, a rugged bronze drain lever, and stainless steel base bolts and nuts for corrosion resistance. The hydrant seat is made of bronze with a near-vertical machined seating surface and two drain ports. The hydrant valve is constructed with an epoxy-coated iron top and bottom and EPDM rubber, designed to minimize debris entrapment.

The hydrant offers a 360° rotation of the upper nozzle section, a 200 psig working pressure, and a shell tested at 400 psig. It includes a lubrication chamber to seal operating threads from water and debris, and a top travel stop nut to prevent stem buckling.
