AK26 Proportioning and conveying screws in modular design

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document discusses the design and functionality of proportioning and conveying screws used for the continuous transport of bulk materials. These screws are designed for horizontal or ascending movement and are noted for their simple design and low maintenance requirements, contributing to high operational reliability.
Specifications: The screw troughs are constructed with removable covers and are available in standard lengths of 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000 mm, with special lengths available upon request. The worm shaft is made of a tubular shaft with a welded solid thread, running on antifriction bearings with stuffing box sealings. For longer lengths, maintenance-free intermediate bearings are used. The tubular shaft parts are bolted together, and the inlets and outlets can be customized as needed.
Designs and Types: The screws are driven by offset geared motors, with alternative drive types available if space is limited. The document lists different designs, including controllable proportioning screws and conveying screws, with thread types such as solid blade thread, belt thread, and paddle thread.
Dimensions: The document provides a table with dimensions for screw diameters ranging from 125 mm to 400 mm, detailing height, width, outlet height, clear width of the trough, outlet opening, and dimension "H". The drive length varies depending on the drive type and size.
Thread and Rotation Types: Four common designs are described based on thread direction and rotation: 1) Right-hand thread, anticlockwise rotation, conveying away from the drive; 2) Right-hand thread, clockwise rotation, conveying towards the drive; 3) Right-hand and left-hand thread, clockwise rotation, conveying from the center to the ends; 4) Right-hand and left-hand thread, anticlockwise rotation, conveying from the ends to the center.
Special Accessories: The document mentions optional accessories such as a speed sensor, product detector, and air shut-off flap. The arrangement of inlets and outlets, thread type, and rotation direction depend on local conditions.
Contact Information: The document provides contact details for AMANDUS KAHL GmbH & Co. KG, including their address in Reinbek/Hamburg, phone and fax numbers, email, and website.

AK26 Proportioning and conveying screws in modular design-1

The conveying screws serve for continuous transport of bulk material in horizontal or ascending direction. The simple design and low maintenance requirements of the conveying screws contribute to their high operational reliability. The screw troughs with removeable covers are executed in a stable construction. The troughs, in the standard lengths of 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000 mm, are connected with each other by means of flanges. Special trough lengths are available. The worm shaft consists of a tubular shaft with welded-on solid thread made of sheet steel. It runs on antifriction bearings with stuffing box sealings. In case of larger lengths maintenancefree intermediate bearings are used. The tubular shaft parts are connected by means of bolts. The inlets and outlets can be arranged according to requirement. The screws are driven by offset geared motors. If sufficient space is lacking, other drive types are possible, too. Designs: ■ Controllable proportioning screws ■ Conveying screws ■ Thread types: solid blade thread, belt thread, paddle thread
