Open the catalog to page 2THE COMPLETE MARKING SOLUTION Miyachi Unitek offers a complete range of marking lasers for use in almost any application that requires direct marking, engraving or machining. Suitable materials include metals, plastics, ceramics, organics and many others. Our experienced engineers evaluate the best marker for the application, while our system engineers ensure the equipment is tailored to fit the job with both standard and custom turnkey solutions.
Open the catalog to page 3A COMPLETE RANGE OF MARKER LASERS Miyachi Unitek offers a number of laser marking technologies including: Yb:fiber, Nd:YVO4 (vanadate), green (532nm), UV (ultraviolet) and CO2 (carbon dioxide). Each laser has specific marking characteristics that align with particular materials and applications. Wavelength is a key characteristic that defines application suitability and provides a quick guide to the various laser markers: Electromagnetic Spectrum
Open the catalog to page 4LASER MARKING 101 Laser marking is achieved when focused light from a laser interacts with a material to produce a high quality permanent mark. Laser marking is a non-contact process; it has no consumables, making it clean and energy-efficient. The mark is created using intuitive Windows®-based software through which control hardware steers the focused beam using two mirrors mounted on high speed precision motors. The software enables text, graphics, logos, barcodes and Datamatrix codes to be marked. Automation features enable part serialization, date coding, variable text inputs, remote...
Open the catalog to page 5FIBER LASER MARKERS The LMF series fiber laser markers have excellent all around marking capabilities providing high quality, contrasting marks on metals and plastics, engraving of metals, and machining of a wide variety of materials. High energy efficiency and no maintenance requirements mean the fiber laser has a low cost of ownership. Glass filled plastic Polished steel With 25 application tuned waveforms, up to 500 kHz pulse frequency, CW operation, 25 optical spot size configurations and flexible laser source options up to 50W, the mark quality and speed of the LMF range of fiber...
Open the catalog to page 6Maximize Mark Speed Miyachi Unitek's marking lasers boast the highest pulse frequency in the industry (500kHz), maximizing mark quality and processing speed. Marking Speed (inches per second) 20 80 160 Mark spot overlap Maximize Mark Readability Marking at lower frequencies causes spot separation and forces speed reduction, increasing cycle time. The readability of a mark is a fundamental requirement. With 25 optical spot size options, there is no compromise on mark readability or speed. For fine marking, small spot sizes are needed, whereas large area fills need large spot sizes to...
Open the catalog to page 7Nd:YVO4 LASER MARKERS Fine Laser Marking The LMV1000 Nd:YVO4 (vanadate) laser marker is designed for high resolution fine marking. Excellent beam quality and a minimum focused spot size of less than 0.001” (25 microns) means fine contrasting marks are possible on metals, plastics and ceramics. Text heights may be less than 0.004" in metals. The laser architecture enables very high peak powers (over 30kW) and very short pulse widths (less than 20ns) providing the level of control needed for high resolution marking. With excellent beam and power stability, the LMV1000 ensures a consistent and...
Open the catalog to page 8GREEN LASER MARKERS Enhanced Marking for Plastics, Silicon and Reflective Metals Comparison of marking clear nylon, top 1064nm and below the LMV1000G at 532nm Gold plating The LMV1000G operates in the visible green spectrum at a 532nm wavelength. The 532nm wavelength provides increased contrast on plastics, the ability to soft mark on silicon, and high quality marking of reflective materials such as gold and silver. Based on the LMV1000 Nd:YVO4 laser platform, the LMV1000G retains all the fine marking features of that laser technology. The increased absorption of the 532nm wavelength,...
Open the catalog to page 9UV AND CO2 LASER MARKING SYSTEMS Unique Marking Applications The UV (ultra violet) laser operating at a 355nm wavelength offers unique marking capabilities. Compared to fiber and Nd:YVO4 lasers – and even the green laser – UV offers the best mark quality on almost all materials. The 355nm wavelength further increases the range of plastics that can be marked with contrast, and also offers the ultimate control of heat input when marking metals. Corrosion and passivation resistant marking of 17-X steels Medical tubing Breaker housings Organics and PCB Marking The CO2 (carbon dioxide) laser...
