Product catalog summary
Overview
The Almatec® C-Series Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm (AODD) Pumps are designed as cost-effective, reliable solutions for various pumping tasks. They are available in five sizes: C 10 (3/8"), C 15 (1/2"), C 25 (1"), C 40 (1-1/2"), and C 50 (2"). These pumps feature a solid design, high safety levels, and are suitable for a wide range of applications including chemical processing, water treatment, and more.

Specifications
- Constructed with solid-design housing in PE or PTFE, including conductive versions for ATEX compliance.
- Diaphragms and ball valves are made from EPDM and PTFE.
- Maintenance-free PERSWING P® air control system.
- Compatible wear parts with other Almatec pumps.
- Self-priming and dry-run capabilities.
- Various connection options to fit existing installations.

Applications
The C-Series pumps are suitable for handling sludges, acids, alkalis, solvents, slurries, emulsions, resins, powders, aqueous solutions, paints, inks, and more. They are used in industries such as chemical, ceramics, mechanical engineering, textile, water processing, and waste disposal.

Functional Principle
The pumps operate on the double diaphragm principle, with two diaphragms connected by a piston rod. Compressed air alternately moves the diaphragms, displacing liquid through the pump. This design ensures the diaphragms are not pressurized, enhancing their service life.

Construction Details
- Side Housings: Made from PE or PTFE, available in conductive versions.
- Construction Rings: Ensure consistent force distribution and increased safety.
- Suction and Discharge Ports: Solid construction with multiple connection options.
- Diaphragms: Integrated metal core for longevity.
- Ball Valves: Robust design, available in EPDM and PTFE.
- PERSWING P® Air Control System: Ensures accurate piston reversal and low noise.

Optional Equipment
- Diaphragm monitoring and stroke counting sensors.
- Conductive center block for higher temperature applications.
- NPT-female threaded air inlet.
- FEP seals for pumps with PTFE internals.

Performance and Technical Data
The pumps are designed to handle various viscosities and capacities, with performance charts provided for different pressures and flow rates. The maximum permissible driving pressure is 7 bar (100 psig), and the operating temperature ranges up to 100°C (212°F) depending on the material.

Chemical Resistance
Materials used in the pumps offer varying levels of resistance to hydrocarbons, water, oils, acids, alkalis, and salts, with PTFE providing the highest resistance across most categories.

Conclusion
The Almatec® C-Series AODD Pumps offer a robust, versatile, and safe solution for a wide range of industrial applications, with customizable options to meet specific operational needs.

The Almatec® C-Series Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm (AODD) Pump is a cost-effective, reliable and superior-built alternative and features a solid design suitable for a wide array of pumping tasks. The distinctive and proven solid design provides the mass needed for an oscillating pump. The suction and discharge ports are available as separate housing parts. In addition to the standard connection, two further connection footprints are available to match existing installations. The ring tightening structure, good suction head, self-priming and dry run capability as well as the absence of drives,...

FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLE The ALMATEC C-Series is based on the functional principle of double diaphragm pumps. The basic configuration consists of two external side housings with a center housing between them. Each of the side housings contains a product chamber which is separated from the center housing by a diaphragm. The two diaphragms are interconnected by a piston rod. Directed by an air control system, they are alternately subjected to compressed air so that they move back and forth. In the first figure, the compressed air has forced the left-hand diaphragm towards the product chamber and displaced...

VISCOSITY AND PUMP CAPACITY The capacity specified in the pump performance charts generally refer to water (1 mPa-s). The value must be reduced correspondingly when pumping liquids with higher viscosity. The design capacity can be read off directly from the graph and the corresponding pump size selected. The example shown here is based on a required capacity of 10 m3/h with a product viscosity of 6000 mPa-s. The dash-dotted line intersects the design capacity scale at 17 m3/h.
