Polypropylene-Series

Product catalog summary
Overview: Polypropylene bag filter housings are designed for applications where stainless steel is incompatible with the fluid being processed. These housings feature a side entry, recessed basket design with a high open area polypropylene restrainer basket that accommodates a range of filter bags, including the 'Welseal' collar.
Design Features: The housings have a bolted lid, which is more durable than screwed lids, as polypropylene threads can wear over time. This design allows the housings to be CE Marked. They are available in duplexed systems for continuous processes or can be manifolded for higher flow requirements.
Configuration: The standard configuration is style 3, with a side inlet and bottom side outlet, featuring a bottom drain and top vent. Connections are DN50 (or 2” ANSI) flanged. The vessel is floor-mounted, with optional adjustable stainless steel legs available.
Pressure and Temperature Ratings: Polypropylene filter bag housings are available in 6 bar or 10 bar ratings. A graph illustrates the pressure rating versus temperature for these housings.
Filter Bag Performance: Performance data is provided for size 1 and size 2M bags at various micron levels (5, 10, 25, 50, 100 microns). Pressure drops are noted for different pipe sizes (2”, 3”, 4”). For corrosive fluids, PVDF vessels can be produced.
Flow Rate and Model Specifications: The document includes a table with model codes, bag sizes, filtration surface areas, inlet/outlet sizes, and maximum flow rates. The maximum flow rate is based on aqueous flow at a clean pressure drop of 1.0 psi, without a bag installed, and is dependent on fluid type, viscosity, temperature, micron rating, and filter bag type.

Polypropylene-Series-1

POLYPROPYLENE SERIES FOR APPLICATIONS WHERE CORROSIVE FLUIDS ARE BEING FILTERED, THESE VESSELS CAN BE PRODUCED FROM PVDF. Polypropylene bag filter housings are available for applications where materials such as stainless steel are incompatible with the fluid to be processed. For continuous processes, we are able to offer duplexed systems with interconnecting valves, or if higher flows are required, several housings can be manifolded together. The Polypropylene series is a side entry, recessed basket design filter housing. The polypropylene restrainer basket has a high open area and holds our complete range of filter bags, including our moulded ‘Welseal’ collar. The standard configuration is our style 3 (side inlet - bottom side outlet). It has a bottom drain and top vent, and DN50 (or 2” ANSI) flanged inlet and outlet connections. An important feature of our design is that it has a bolted lid, which is advantageous compared to screwed lid models. Polypropylene threads can wear over time due to repeated opening and closing of a screwed lid, which ultimately damages the lid closure arrangement. The bolted lid design enables our polypropylene filter bag housings to be CE Marked. THE VESSEL IS DESIGNED TO BE FLOOR MOUNTED, ALTHOUGH OPTIONAL ADJUSTABLE STAINLESS STEEL LEGS ARE AVAILABLE. POLYPROPYLENE FILTER BAG HOUSINGS ARE AVAILABLE EITHER 6 BAR OR 10 BAR RATED (see graph below). Achieved flow rate is dependant on type of fluid being filtered, fluid viscosity and temperature, micron rating and type of filter bag. 10 BAR RATED HOUSING 6 BAR RATED HOUSING PRESSURE RATING VERSUS TEMPERATURE FOR POLYPROPYLENE BAG FILTER HOUSINGS POLYPROPYLENE BAG FILTER HOUSINGS ARE AVAILABLE FOR APPLICATIONS WHERE MATERIALS SUCH AS STAINLESS STEEL ARE INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE FLUID TO BE PROCESSED.
