New Stainless Steel Lifeline 4 Cable Pull Switch Protects Your Personnel and Equipment, Even in the Harshest Environments A Proven Safety Switch, Made Even Tougher The standard Lifeline 4 product has a proven track record for providing your personnel constant access to an emergency stop around awkwardly-shaped machinery and alongside conveyors. However, there are some applications where the standard Lifeline 4 is not suitable. In response, Rockwell Automation has introduced the Stainless Steel Lifeline 4. The only investment cast stainless steel cable pull switch on the market, the new Stainless Steel Lifeline 4, with its IP66/IP67 enclosure rating, is an ideal solution for use on long conveyor systems in harsh environments, e.g. outdoor applications or washdown areas. In addition, the 316 stainless steel construction provides enhanced corrosion resistance. Offering the same functionality as the standard Lifeline 4 product, the Stainless Steel Lifeline 4 is available with 2 N.C. safety contacts and 2 N.O. auxiliary contacts in M20, ½ in NPT or quick disconnect versions. However, the Stainless Steel Lifeline 4 differs from the standard product in the following ways: ! Investment cast 316 unpainted stainless steel housing as opposed to a painted die-cast zinc alloy. ! External mounting holes, which are a function of the casting process. ! The seal between the lid and the body protrudes slightly so that it is not a food trap. ! Product markings (e.g. part numbers) are permanently laser-etched on the lid and side of the switch. A number of accessories suitable for harsh conditions are also being offered to complete the solution, including installation kits, corner pulleys and replacement lids.
