TS20 - Plate heat exchanger

Product catalog summary
Applications: The TS20 plate heat exchanger is designed for general heating and cooling duties, including heating by steam.
Standard Design: The exchanger consists of corrugated metal plates with portholes for fluid passage. These plates are assembled between a fixed frame plate and a movable pressure plate, compressed by tightening bolts. Gaskets seal the interplate channels and direct fluids into alternate channels. The number of plates is determined by flow rate, fluid properties, pressure drop, and temperature program. The corrugations enhance turbulence and support against differential pressure.
Typical Capacities: Liquid flow rates can reach up to 190 kg/s, depending on media, pressure drop, and temperature program. Water heating by steam ranges from 2.5 to 15 MW at 150°C and 2.5 to 9 MW at 120°C.
Plate and Frame Types: TS20M plates with frame types FM, FG, and FS.
Working Principle: Channels are formed between plates, allowing alternate media flow. Heat is transferred through the plates, creating counter-current flow for efficiency. Plate corrugation supports and enhances turbulence for effective heat transfer.
Standard Materials: Frame plates are made of mild steel with epoxy paint. Nozzles are carbon steel, with options for stainless steel or titanium lining. Plates are stainless steel Alloy 316 or titanium, with gaskets made of Nitrile, EPDM, or HeatSealF™.
Technical Data: Pressure vessel codes include PED, ASME, and pvcALS™. Mechanical design pressure/temperature varies by frame type, with FM at 1.0 MPa/180°C, FG at 1.6 MPa/180°C, and FS at 3.0 MPa/160°C.
Connections: Connection sizes and standards vary by frame type, with options including DIN, ASME, and JIS standards.
Dimensions: Measurements for different types are provided, with maximum heat transfer surface of 85 m².
Quotation Requirements: Necessary details include flow rates or heat load, temperature program, liquid properties, desired working pressure, maximum pressure drop, and available steam pressure.

TS20 - Plate heat exchanger-1

TS20 TS20-MFG Plate heat exchanger Applications General heating and cooling duties. Heating by means of steam. Standard design The plate heat exchanger consists of a pack of corrugated metal plates with portholes for the passage of the two fluids between which heat transfer will take place. The plate pack is assembled betweeen a fix frame plate and a movable pressure plate and compressed by tightening bolts. The plates are fitted with a gasket which seals the interplate channel and directs the fluids into alternate channels. The number of plates is determined by the flow rate, physical properties of the fluids, pressure drop and temperature program. The plate corrugations promote fluid turbulence and support the plates against differential pressure. The plate and the pressure plate are suspended from an upper carrying bar and located by a lower guiding bar, both of which are fixed to a support column. Connections are located in the frame plate or, if either or both fluids make more than a single pass within the unit, in the frame and pressure plates. Typical capacities Liquid flow rate Up to 190 kg/s, depending on media, permitted pressue drop and temperature program. Water heating by steam 2.5 - 15 MW at a steam condensation temperature of 150°C 2.5 - 9 MW at a steam condensation temperature of 120°C Plate types TS20M plates Frame types FM, FG and FS

The heat is transferred through the plate between the channels, and complete counter-current flow is created for highest possible efficiency. The corrugation of the plates provides the passage between the plates, supports each plate against the adjacent one and enhances the turbulence,...
