GBM Product Guide 48 Series System - 1

GUIDED BORING - 48 SERIES SYSTEM The GBM 48 Series was made essential with GBM projects trending towards 400-ft. + (122 m) installations. The GBM 48 Series jacking frames features 30% more rotational torque than other GBM jacking frame models. They operates in 0-10,500-ft-lbs. and 0-26,000-ft-lbs. ranges of force to match tooling requirements. Each torque range offers two rotational drive speed options with 35 and 50-rpms in low and 23 and 35 rpms in high torque. The frame features 100-ton fast and 265- ton slow jacking force speeds with 100 tons of pull-back force. GBM 48 Series frames are able to install up to 48-in. (1,219 mm) OD pipe in 8-ft. (2.4 m) lenghts for a minimum 15-ft. (4.6 m) shaft. Frame skid base extensions are available for 10 and 20- ft. (3,6 m) pipe lengths. The frame's 7.5-in. (191 mm) cylinders have either a 30-in. (762 mm) or 40-in. (1,016 mm) stroke, and latch on center every 12-in. (305 mm). Two power pack systems are available to operate the GBM 48 Series jacking frame. The P250D Power Pack features a six- cylinder, liquid-cooled, 250 HP (186 kW) diesel engine. The diesel engine. It has three hydraulic-circuits for independent control of the auger and cutter bit drives and jacking thrust. Both power packs meet tier three standards and operate with an in-shaft remote pendant. The PCH upsizing tool offers more flexibility in soil conditions for rapid and accurate bores. The jetting ports in the cutter face attach to a single hose that distributes water to its four nozzles. There are three pipe lubrication ports located in the rear of the machine. All PCHs feature independent cutter face and auger drive motors for lower jacking force and a faster advance rate. A P250D power pack is required to operate the 48 Series Jacking Frames with PCH tooling. The GBM 48 Series Jacking Frame is capable of meters in length. It features independent jacking, rotation and cutter bit operation. The P250D Power Pack features a six-cylinder, liquid cooled, 275 HP (205 kW) diesel engine with three variable piston pumps for independent operation of the jacking, rotation and PCH. The P150Q Power Pack features a four-cylinder, liquid cooled, 154 HP (115 kW) engine with three variable-piston pumps for independent operation The large diameter PCH 36 and PCH 44 reduce jacking force and lubricate spoils at the face of the bore for ease in removal. All PCHs feature independent cutter face and auger drive motors for lower jacking force and a faster advance rate. The notched thrust casing assembly features symmetrical notched connections that are secured with a casing collar and common hardware.
