Swivel Cutter Head Spoils removed to the launch shaft. Pilot Tube End The swivel cutter head allows the pilot tubes to remain stationary while the cutting teeth rotate through the ground at a full 12.5” (318 mm) OD or 17.5” (445 mm) OD cut (depending on cutter head). The spoils are removed using the standard Akkerman augers and casings to the launch shaft. A fluid connector is equipped on the swivel cutter head permitting lubrication of the spoils to reduce jacking forces. Cutter head with drag and conical bullet bits.
