Overview: The 173/e Vertical Plane Tensile Testing Machine by A.J.T. Equipment Limited is designed for proof load testing of wire chains, ropes, and similar items. It features an open test bed suitable for testing spreader beams and other similar items.

Load Cell: The load cell is positioned between the pulling clevis and pull ram, featuring a strain gauge tensile load with a multi-bridge for temperature compensation and close zero balance. It is calibrated according to ISO 7500-1: 1999(E).

Power Pack: The power pack includes a flanged motor coupled to a single pump, with filtration provided by a suction line strainer and tank top filler/breather.

Test Bed: The main frame consists of steel section side frames with cross bracing and location points for a moving carriage. It includes anchor fixing holes for 'Thor-bolts' to prevent 'tramping'. An adjustable carriage on free-moving rollers allows for easy placement according to the test specimen length. The machine is fully guarded for operator protection.

Load Control Console: Features a digital monitor with a 20mm high character readout connected to the load cell. It includes a peak freeze provision for capturing maximum load, pressure control via a control valve, and a PUMP START and STOP button. An optional data acquisition facility is available.

Straining Unit: Comprises a long stroke hydraulic cylinder with a double-acting ram, fitted with low friction seals. The pulling ram ends in a fixed clevis jaw, with a similar setup on the moving carriage.
