Position Sensing Configurations for Airpel® Cylinders

Position Sensing Configurations for Airpel® Cylinders

Product catalog summary
Overview: Airpot Corporation provides a solution for customers requiring electrical output of piston position in Airpel® cylinders. This involves the use of optional switch-activating magnets and aluminum tracks for mounting position sensors.
Position Sensing Configurations: Most Airpel models can be equipped with a magnet on the piston and aluminum tracks on the cylinder. These tracks facilitate the secure installation of Sick, Inc. position sensors, which are sold separately. Popular models of GMR sensors and matching extension cables are available.
Specification for Magnet and Tracks: To specify the inclusion of a magnet and tracks, customers should add specific letter designators to the Airpel part number. For example, adding 'M' indicates a magnet on the piston, while 'T#' indicates the position of the sensor track on the cylinder.
Example Configurations: A basic model E16D1.5U with a magnet becomes E16D1.5UM. Adding a track at the 90-degree position changes it to E16D1.5UT2, and adding another track at the 270-degree position results in E16D1.5UT2T4.
Sensor Track Information: The document provides the overall height for different models: E9/M9 is 20.3 mm, E16/M16 is 27.0 mm, and E24/M24 is 38.2 mm.

Position Sensing Configurations for Airpel® Cylinders-1

For customers desiring electrical output of piston position, most Airpel models are offered with an optional switch-activating magnet on the piston, as well as one or more optional aluminum tracks attached to the cylinder. The tracks are specially designed for easy, securemounting of the Sick, Inc. position sensors which we offer separately. We stock popular models of these extremely reliable GMR sensors along with matching accessory extension cables. > Simply add the appropriate letter designator(s) to the end of a basic Airpel part number.
