OverDam Software is a platform application developed to collect and control all information from one or more dams and their reservoirs. It is a powerful piece of software which colle cts , stores and calculat es preliminary analysis of the acquired data. The software was designed to work across many different types of dam and has already proved itself in numerous projects. Thanks to the totally transparent front end driver the user can take automatic measurements as frequently as possible from any sensor through differing communication mediums such as serial lines, optical fibre, GSM, co-axial cable, WIFI, and standard copper cabling, alone or as a mixed system. OverDam can also receive manual measurements via Excel and Word files or directly from the keyboard. All data is collected and organised in a fast, powerful SQL data bank which is compatible with the geographic data system GIS. The data bank can be customised according to requirements through windows or drop-down menus and has been designed to allow fast efficient and user-friendly management of the data. The data management setup allows the application to be surfed like a website and thanks to the mapped overview of the facility an individual instrument or area can be zoomed to using a simple mouse click. which can be updated at will. The data bank, instrument windows, diagrams, warning and alarm signals are kept updated in real-time automatically. OverDam can generate automatic reports at regular intervals (daily, weekly or monthly) containing any information produced by the database and specified by the user.
