The capacitance level indicator consists of the control unit CapFox® S 74x with digital display, a probe and an EX pre-amplifier which is factory-mounted in the probe head. CapFox® S 74x has an intrinsically safe power circuit. In order to ensure the intrinsic safety of the circuit, the S 74x control unit may only be operated in conjunction with the HF pre-amplifier (part no. 51791) and a capacitance rod probe type 88. The control unit must be installed outside of the hazardous area. The choice of measuring probe (partially or fully insulated, rigid) depends on the properties of the medium to be measured and the shape of the tank. Fully insulated probes must be used for conductive media. The probes are equipped with a capacitance voltage transducer (HF probe insert) in the probe head and are mounted vertically.
