The Intel® 5520 chipset supports Intel® QuickPath Interconnects at 6.4 GT/s, 5.86 GT/s, and 4.8 GT/s speeds which can combine with Intel® Xeon® Processor 5500 Series (Nehalem Core) in their respective two sockets. This platform is the first single processing platform that introduces the Intel® QuickPath Interconnect. Intel® QuickPath Interconnect is Intel’s new generation point-to-point system interconnect interface and replaces the Front Side Bus. Additionally, this chipset delivers up to 32 lanes Express 2.0 interface. SCB-9550 performs outstanding computing performance from entire system design. In addition to dual Nehalem core Xeon® processors; SCB-9550 can give 12 (total six channels, three channels per CPU) 1333/1066/800Mhz DDR3 system memory slots which support ECC and parity protection mechanisms to protect internal data paths. Positioning to an enterprise level product, which is required redundancy and flexibility design to maintain better platform availability and serviceability. SCB-9550 provides as like of 1+1 high efficient redundant power supply, hot swappable HDD trays and system fan module to address server grade requirement. Another most required specification on network service appliance, SCB-9550 offers many different types of Ethernet ports connectivity modules for custom flexible pre-installation; such as 10Gigabit SFP+, Gigabit copper (by-pass function for option), Gigabit fiber (by-pass function for option) and combo ports. The max capacity can provide 24 GbE ports. In order to enhance network security performance, SCB-9550 solders max four Cavium Nitrox-PX 16xx on system to give hardware level cryptographic acceleration which can leave more CPU computing power for higher layer packet processing. For storage subsystem, SCB-9550 designs in one CompactFlashTM socket and four hot swappable SATA trays which can support 0, 1, 5, 10 software RAID supported by Intel® system chipset; or hardware RAID supported by extra RAID card plugged onto SCB-9550 PCI-E expansion slot.
