The DTS heat exchangers are manufactured in compliance with PED Directives and are FDA and cGMP approved. Validation includes heat calculations, certificates for ASTM 3.1B materials, construction plans, and surface finish readings. The thermal insulation cover is completely welded, and the external tube sheet with tube bundle is expanded and seal welded according to the ASME-BPE Directive.
Operating Principles
The main flow, which can be WFI distilled water, DW demineralized water, or PS pure steam, is directed through one or more tube shafts. The secondary fluid, such as CW cooling water or a heating medium, is channeled countercurrent inside the shell. The double tube sheet design prevents mixing of the two fluids, ensuring that any leakage from the tube will escape to the atmosphere.
Description
Aerre Inox has been designing and manufacturing stainless steel tube shaft sterile heat exchangers with double tube sheets since 1990, adhering to USP 23 and FDA norms. These exchangers are custom-made to meet client specifications, ensuring optimal design and functionality. They can operate in inclined, sloped, or vertical positions and are self-draining, suitable for heating, cooling, or both. Standard features include insulation, support brackets, and o-rings.
The Tube Shaft
Constructed from seamless AISI 316L tubes with an internal finish of Ra<0.6μm, the tubes are pickled and passivated post-manufacture. They are secured using mechanical expansion on the tube sheets with a triangular pitch. The number of passes can vary from 1 to 8, depending on speed and load loss, with IN/OUT connection clamps for primary fluids located on the chambers.
The Shell
Also made from AISI 316L, the shell is designed based on diameter and working pressure. It can include an axial expansion compensator to handle linear expansions. Insulation supports, typically fiberglass, are bonded to the shell, which is protected by a riveted AISI 304 sheet. The shell also includes support brackets and flanged IN/OUT connectors for secondary fluids.
LSC Unit Range
The LSC unit range is designed for quick and easy sampling of clean steam and Water For Injection (WFI) while maintaining a sterile testing environment. It can operate with mains water as the cooling medium, and an aseptic sample valve allows precise control of sample flow. The capacity depends on system pressure, temperature, and the cooling water supply's temperature and flow rate.

Lj] cgruiQt*} This LSC unit ranges have been designed to allow clean steam and Water For Injection (WFI) samples to be taken quickly and easly whilst providing a sterile environment for testing and can be operated with mains water as the cooling medium. Availability of aseptic sample valve allow fine control of sample flow during testing. The capacity of the LSC range is dependent on the system pressure and temperature, together with the temperature and flow rate of the cooling water supply.

SECONDARY INLET SECONDARY OUTLET OPERATING PRINCIPLES The main flow (WFI distilled water, DW demineralised water, PS pure steam) is sent along one or more of the tube shafts, while the secondary fluid (CW cooling water, or heating medium ) is channelled countercurrent inside the shell. The double tube sheet operation prevents any mixing of the two processing fluids, since should the tube contract, the fluid inside of the shell will leak to atmosphere.
