Aero-Caster® Selection Guide

Aero-Caster® Selection Guide

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The Aero-Caster® Selection Guide provides detailed information on various models of Aero-Casters, highlighting their applications, advantages, and specifications. The guide is intended for use in industrial settings, particularly in environments requiring specialized lifting and moving solutions.
Standard Duty Neoprene Aero-Casters®
These are used in over 80% of applications due to their compliance and ability to navigate small irregularities. They are best suited for smooth, steel-troweled, and sealed concrete surfaces, ideal for low-load and low-pressure applications. They are commonly used in cleanroom and theatrical industries.
Heavy Duty Applications
Heavy Duty (HD) versions are less compliant but offer greater strength and stiffness. They are suitable for environments with gaps or steps and require good operating surfaces.
High Lift Aero-Casters®
These provide additional lift height but require good operating surfaces. They are used when sealing the caster to the floor is challenging.
Urethane Aero-Casters®
Used in about 10% of applications, these are less forgiving in low-load/low-pressure conditions and have higher air consumption due to a stiffer torus face. They are suitable for high travel rates and surfaces with debris.
DuraGlide Aero-Casters®
Known for their extra-long life and rugged durability, these casters have undergone extensive testing. They offer superior resistance to abrasion and are easy to maintain and replace.
Slide Mount System
This system allows for easy attachment to the product application, facilitating maintenance and inspection.
Compliance and Standards
AeroGo Aero-Casters comply with ASME B30.1 standards. For more information on specific factors like friction and air consumption, users are advised to contact the company directly.

Aero-Caster® Selection Guide-1

Aero-Caster Selection Guide ® Neoprene MODEL NAME STANDARD DUTY HEAVY DUTY Slide Mount Used in over 80% of applications, Standard Duty Neoprene Aero-Casters® are more compliant & better able to navigate over small irregularities than stronger/stiffer models or the Heavy Duty (HD) versions. Typical operating surface is smooth, steeltroweled & sealed concrete. Best for lowload/low pressure applications. Standard Neoprene series Aero-Casters perform to specification with virtually no wear. The “N” has the lowest relative air consumption for a given size because of its high compliance torus design. Constructed with a reinforced Neoprene face. 10% of applications may require Urethane Aero-Casters. Less forgiving of low-load/ low pressure conditions. Slightly higher air consumption due to stiffer/stronger torus face. Consult Regional Manager or factory for advice. Superior resistance to severe abrasion due to special wear-resistant Urethane face construction. Stiffer/stronger torus face. Unusual environments such as crossing gaps or steps. Typically used in cleanroom and theatrical industries. Specially designed to cross gaps and steps. Somewhat higher friction and lower load range than other Aero-Casters. No dust particulates. For high travel rates and/or surfaces difficult to keep clear of debris. Provides lower lift than the N and U models. Not usually suitable for lift-dependent applications (e.g. insert-lift-move skids). Extra-long life and rugged durability. The DuraGlide Aero-Caster was subjected to the most extensive laboratory and special onsite testing of any Aero-Caster in the world during development. High Lift High Lift Aero-Casters® provide additional lift height during operation with a slight trade-off in flexibility. Requires good operating surfaces. Ideal for special applications where additional lift height is required. Contact your Regional Manager or factory for advice. Slide Mount Slide mount system is attached to the product application. Easier maintenance and fast replacement. Easy caster removal for inspection or repair, whether the product is loaded or unloaded. Bond Line Used when there are issues sealing the caster to the floor. Ensures full torus bag inflation at low pressure. AeroGo Aero-Casters are ASME B30.1 compliant.
