Product catalog summary
Overview: The document is a catalog and application guide for mezzanine lifts, specifically rider lifts and automated material lifts. It highlights the benefits of these lifts, such as increased utility, cost-effectiveness, and safer, faster loading and unloading processes.
Specifications and Standards: Scissors lifts have been used for over 60 years as an economical alternative to elevators and conveyors. They are governed by ANSI codes: ANSI.MH29.1 for industrial scissors lifts, and ANSI/SIA A92.3 and A92.6 for mobile elevating work platforms. These codes allow riders on platforms with proper guard rails. Scissors lifts are not covered by ANSI B20.1, ANSI 17.1, or ASME A18.1, which apply to other types of lifts.
Installation and Safety Features: Typical installations include constant pressure push button controls, interlocked guard rails and gates, and smooth surfaces to eliminate shear points. Enclosures and gates are interlocked to prevent movement unless the lift is present.
BFL Series Lifts: Designed for high travel applications with large platforms, these lifts feature tubular steel legs for rigidity and reduced weight. They include patented platform centering devices, UL-approved controllers, and conform to ANSI codes. Specifications include various models with different capacities and dimensions.
MSL Series Lifts: These lifts are for higher travel applications requiring shorter platforms. They feature solid steel or structural tubing legs, platform centering devices, and conform to ANSI codes. Specifications detail various models with different capacities and dimensions.
Warranty: The company offers a one-year warranty on parts and a ten-year warranty on structure, with conditions on repairs and modifications.
Conclusion: Scissors lifts are distinct from elevators and conveyors, offering stable, factory-assembled solutions without external guide rails. Automated applications require enclosures and prohibit riders during movement.

Scissors lifts have been safely moving men and material from ground level to higher elevations for more than 60 years and are an economical alternative to reciprocating conveyors and elevators with their elaborate guiding and hoisting mechanisms. Scissors lifts in general are governed by three ANSI codes: 4ANSI.MH29.1 is primarily concerned with “industrial scissors lifts”. 4ANSI/SIA A92.3 and A92.6 are primarily concerned with “mobile elevating work platforms”. All of these ANSI codes allow for riders on the platforms with proper guard rails. The writers of ANSI B20.1 Vertical Reciprocating...

S CISSORS L IFTS A RE N OT E LEVATORS : The biggest differences between rider scissors lifts and elevators or vertical reciprocating conveyors are as follows: 1. Scissors lifts are factory assembled not field assembled from kits. Scissors lifts have no external guide rails and/or pulley mechanisms to entangle riders. All the stability and lifting is provided by the scissors lift mechanism beneath the platform. Rider scissors lifts use constant pressure push buttons which means the rider operator is in constant control. Although fixed scissor lifts under ANSI MH29.1 and the mobile elevating platforms...
