The Model 104-ICOM-2S is a rugged, low-cost dual-port PC/104 serial communication board with 60V optical isolation. The 104-COM-2S is the non-isolated version. Optical isolation ensures smooth, error-free data transmission in noisy environments. The board features two serial ports based on the 16C550 UART with a 16-byte FIFO, suitable for high-speed communications across various operating systems. Ports are accessible via two DB9 Male connectors with jack screws for secure connections in harsh environments.
Each port's protocol (RS-422 or RS-485) is selectable via jumpers. Supports two- and four-wire communications, including four-wire RS-485. Bias is standard on transmit and receive lines, with jumper-selected termination to simplify system architecture.
The 104-ICOM-2S is compatible with all operating systems and includes a free software package for DOS, Linux, and Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003. It contains sample programs and source code in "C" and Pascal for DOS, and Visual Basic, Delphi, C++ Builder, and Visual C++ for Windows. A graphical setup program is available for Windows, and embedded OS support includes Windows XPe and CE. A Windows terminal program simplifies operation verification.
