1313 12V Spike Suppressor - 1

Operating Instructions No matter how far you keep alarm cables away from mains, telephone and other electrical wiring, ‘Induced AC’ and ‘Electrical Spikes’ will eventually cause unexplained false alarms or system malfunctions. The main culprits for false alarms include: nearby lightning, fluorescent lights, fridges, freezers, central heating, computers, motors and other common electrical appliances. To prevent random phantom alarms, fit an ACT 1313 to every alarm system as standard. Fit just one to the control panel and each PSU. Connect Red+ and Black- across the 12V DC auxiliary supply (same 12V supply used for PIRs), and Green to mains Earth. It’s that simple! After fitting, test to ensure that induced AC voltage has fallen to within 1.2VAC by connecting a multimeter between Earth and 12VDC.
