Product catalog summary
Introduction
Predictive maintenance is crucial for businesses to prevent failures, reduce costs, and comply with health and safety regulations. ABB has integrated the Predict feature into its ABB Ability Electrical Distribution Control System (EDCS) to facilitate this process.

Specifications
The EDCS collects data from circuit breakers to analyze mechanical and electrical aging trends. It considers factors such as the number of operations, overloads, short circuits, earth faults, and environmental conditions like temperature and humidity.

Procedures
The system provides a web-based overview of device health and maintenance schedules, optimized based on real usage and conditions. It uses a traffic light system to indicate device health, with colors ranging from green to red.

Features
The Predict feature allows users to view reliability curves and historical trends for each device. It sends automatic notifications for significant events affecting maintenance schedules.

Licensing
The Predict feature is available as an add-on per device or as part of the ABB Ability EDCS Predictive Access package, which offers different tiers based on the number of devices monitored.

Benefits
Key benefits include improved service profitability, extended product life, increased safety, and the ability to manage and connect from anywhere via the cloud-based platform.

Conclusion
ABB's Predict feature for Emax 2 circuit breakers enhances power availability and operational efficiency through targeted maintenance.

Low voltage products - Predictive maintenance-1

Low Voltage Products Predictive Maintenance Investing to prevent failures and their costly consequences, such as loss of production and possible violation of health and safety legislation, is a primary concern for many businesses. Successful prevention of failures can make a big difference but, to minimize maintenance costs, it must be optimized. Integrating the Predict feature into the ABB AbilityTM Electrical Distribution Control System (EDCS), ABB has created an easy-to-use tool to immediately understand, analyze and predict the health and status of monitored devices. A web page, accessible from anywhere, provides an overview of the health of all the devices monitored in the plant – and a detailed analysis of each device with a clear indication of a deadline (Next maintenance) for its next maintenance work. This date is optimized according to the real utilization of the device and its real environmental conditions. ABB Ability Electrical Distribution Control System (EDCS) is able to collect and analyze all the necessary data directly from the circuit breaker to define accurate mechanical and electrical aging trends. The number of operations, trips for overload (L ANSI 49), short circuits (S - ANSI 51 & 50TD, I - ANSI 50), earth faults (G - ANSI 51N & 50NTD), possible errors or Trip Unit malfunctions and all the environmental factors (temperature, humidity, corrosion, dust level and vibrations) are considered and used to calculate the circuit breaker’s working life. The device’s health conditions are represented with a color with a traffic light indication: the risk of a failure increases passing from green to yellow or orange or
