Bringing your assets to a greener level The Modular Switchgear Monitoring (MSM) is an add-on system to supervise SF6-gas density. The system is suitable for all kinds of switchgear layouts and operates independently of existing control and protection devices. MSM is applicable for new substations and for retrofit of existing installations. Trust – Stabilizing the system in operation The importance of reliable data in real time is one of the most decisive factors when it comes to safe operation of power substations; it can make the difference between a stable and an unstable system. The MSM...

Monitoring and Visualization Web interface or SCADA Ethernet LAN Control Network Local Control Cubicle with MSM and HMI Local Control Cubicle with MSM and HMI MSM Architecture. The Monitoring System network is separated from the control network. Application The MSM system improves the reliability of the complete switchgear by offering a redundancy in SF 6-gas density supervision. The hybrid gas density monitor enables measurements through conventional switch signals and via sensor signals. The status in each gas compartment is continuously measured and displayed in a consolidated view,...

Modules The MSM system consists of one Control & Communication Module (CCM) and at least one Analog Input Module (AIM), which are arranged in an MSM Stack (see figure 2). The AIMs communicate via an internal bus system with the CCM, which provides a connection to a local display and an Ethernet interface for visualization of gathered data. Sensors The MSM integrates temperature- and pressure compensated sensors designed especially for the use in high voltage substations. All sensors are tested according to IEC 62271 and provide interfaces to industrial standards. The MSM modules are DIN...
