Overview of Liquid Cold Plates (LCP) for Electronic Systems
Liquid Cold Plates (LCP) are designed to efficiently extract heat from multiple electronic components within complex systems. They are particularly beneficial for applications with high heat density per volume, such as servers, data centers, and automotive motor drives, where they can manage up to 3 kW of heat per liter.
Applications and Advantages of Liquid Cooling

High Power Custom Solutions

For low to medium power applications, Aavid Thermalloy offers both standard and custom solutions:
  • AavChannel: Simple milled channels in the base plate with cooling pockets tailored to customer needs.
  • AavBlister Cold Plates: Stamped channels in the cover for cost reduction in high volume applications, with internal offset fin structures for enhanced performance.
Brazed LCP Solutions
Aavid Thermalloy's brazed LCP solutions utilize Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) for cost-effective manufacturing. For applications requiring pure or de-ionized water, Vacuum Brazed products are available, as well as solutions with copper or stainless steel tubes.
