Method of Operation
The sensors are available in three versions: NTC thermistor, platinum RTD for continuous monitoring, and PTC thermistor with trip points at 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, and 90°C. They feature a 1/4” BSPT thread and come with a three-meter cable for connection to PLCs or hazard monitoring systems. The connections are not polarity sensitive, allowing for easy field extension.

Technical Specifications
  • NTC Sensors: Resistance at 25°C is 10,000 Ohms, at 60°C is 2,487 Ohms, and at 90°C is 916 Ohms. Sensing voltage is 5 to 24 VDC with a current draw of 1 mA.
  • PTC Sensors: Resistance at 60°C is ≤250 Ohms, and at the trip point is ≥2,000 Ohms. Sensing voltage is 5 to 25 VDC with a current draw of 20 mA.
  • PT100 Sensors: Resistance at 0°C is 100 Ohms, and at 100°C is 138.4 Ohms. Sensing voltage is via transducer with a current limit of 1 mA.

Additional Information
Stainless-steel bodies with cable entry, not conduit entry. Optional cable lengths of 5 and 10 meters are available upon request. The sensors are compatible with 4B's hazard monitoring systems like the T500 Hotbus Elite and Watchdog Elite.

WDB8 Bearing Temperature Sensors-1

PRODUCT DATASHEET Bearing Temperature Sensors APPLICATION For use on any application where bearing temperature monitoring is required. METHOD OF OPERATION The WDB 8 series bearing sensors are designed to screw directly into a bearing housing. Each sensor is fitted with a grease zerk to allow lubrication of the bearing without the need for removal of the sensor. The WDB8 series have a 1/4” BSPT thread. Three versions are available; an NTC thermistor or platinum RTD type for continuous temperature monitoring, and a PTC thermistor model with the following trip points (specify when ordering): 60°C, 70°C, 80°C and 90°C. The sensor is supplied with a three-meter attached cable and can be connected to a PLC or to a hazard monitoring system, such as 4B’s T500 Hotbus Elite, Watchdog Elite, or IE NODE. The connections are not polarity sensitive therefore special connection requirements are eliminated, and the cable can be extended in the field.
